Good to know: Château Saint‑Paul Haut‑Médoc is a Cru Bourgeois estate located in the northern Médoc near Sociando‑Mallet, producing classic Bordeaux blends from 25-year-old vines on gravel-clay soils. Under the guidance of consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt, the vineyard follows sustainable practices, with careful vinification in cement and stainless steel, followed by 12 months in French oak. The wines are medium-bodied and structured, offering notes of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, and spice, perfect for pairing with grilled meats, stews, or aged cheeses. A standout value for lovers of traditional Médoc character.
Anchored in the privileged clay-and-gravel soils of the Haut-Médoc, the 2017 Château Saint Paul is a masterclass in Left Bank charm, balance, and approachable elegance. Driven by a Merlot-forward blend aged in French oak, this vintage opens with an inviting aromatic bouquet of ripe blackcurrants, juicy dark plums, crushed herbs, and subtle hints of tobacco smoke and espresso. The 2017 growing season imparted a fresh, bright energy to the fruit, supported by fine, silky tannins and a smooth, savory finish that is ready to enjoy right now. Its refined, medium-bodied profile makes it an effortless companion for the dining table, pairing seamlessly with grilled ribeye, pan-seared duck breast, braised beef short ribs, or a selection of cured meats and aged hard cheeses.

Kat WynnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great wine bar. They offer a wide selection of wine & the tapas are delicious. I didn't think I'd enjoy bread with olive oil as much as I did! Gambas, patè & croquettes were also delicious. We went at around 2pm and it was quiet - we just wanted something light and available. I believe they offer a variety of meats that has to be pre ordered? We would love to come back. Also, very good service. Peter LacTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Txanton offers a focused and authentic take on Spanish dining, grounded in its role as a jamonería and its clear respect for quality produce and tradition. At the heart of the menu is the jamón. The jamón tasting menu is particularly impressive, presenting six different varieties that span the full spectrum of cured ham, each one expertly prepared and deeply flavourful. The supporting dishes are equally strong, including excellent gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimps), a rich and comforting arroz cremoso con frutos de mar (seafood creamy rice), and bold chorizo picante a la brasa (spicy chorizo) with smoky depth. Dessert is distinctive and well judged, with the crema de queso (cream cheese) paired beautifully with PX wine, raisins, and a Tempranillo cookie. Service is relaxed and courteous, with staff providing thoughtful recommendations and attentive care throughout. The setting is welcoming and unpretentious, echoing the atmosphere of a traditional Spanish dining room - ideal for sharing plates, conversation, and good wine. Txanton succeeds in delivering a genuine Spanish experience, excelling in its jamón while offering a consistently well-executed menu.
