Giuseppe Cortese Barbaresco Rabajà 2021 is a refined Nebbiolo crafted from the historic Rabajà vineyard, one of Barbaresco’s most celebrated crus. The wine undergoes a traditional vinification with about 30 days of skin contact and is then matured for nearly two years in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by extended bottle aging. It reveals a dark ruby color and an expressive bouquet of dried cherry, orange peel, mint, earth, and subtle herbal notes, gradually unfolding into deeper tones of tobacco and licorice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and elegantly structured, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a mineral-driven finish that adds depth and length. While already enjoyable with some aeration, this vintage promises to evolve beautifully over the coming decade, making it ideal for cellaring or pairing with game, roasted meats, and aged cheeses.
