Founded in 1999, Prats & Symington is a collaboration between renowned Bordeaux winemaker Bruno Prats and the Symington family. As an independent producer focused on premium dry red wines, the winery has played a key role in elevating the reputation of the Douro DOC, helping to lead the region’s modern quality movement.

Chryseia is a refined expression of the Douro Valley’s unique terroir, carefully crafted at the Quinta de Roriz estate. Born from the shared vision of two winemaking families, it highlights the sophistication of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, delivering a wine of exceptional balance, depth, and elegance.

Chryseia 2021 is crafted from a meticulous selection of grapes grown at Quinta de Roriz and Quinta da Perdiz, with additional fruit from the nearby Quinta da Vila Velha. After several hot, dry years, the 2021 growing season was notably cooler, allowing for slower, more balanced ripening. The absence of typical summer heatwaves in the Douro and the benefit of cool nights contributed to vibrant acidity and excellent color in the wines. The harvest, shaped by three key rain events, began on September 17th with Touriga Nacional and concluded on the 26th with Touriga Franca.
