Good to Know: The Finca La Nieta property vineyard is situated in Páganos-Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa, boasting 1.75 hectares of land. The soil composition consists of a limy franc-clay texture with a calcareous-clay composition and a deep sandy rocky sub-soil. The plantation is high density on trellis, resulting in a low yield. Organic fertilization methods are employed, and environmental integrated agriculture practices are utilized to ensure a viticulture that is respectful of the environment, following the biorhythms of the plant. This vineyard was planted in the year 1975.
Hand-harvested grapes undergo meticulous destemming and selection process. Cold maceration at 6ºC for 5 days precedes fermentation in 20-hectolitre oak barrels at 28ºC using indigenous yeast from our vineyards. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, followed by aging for 16 months in new French Bordelaise oak barrels.
The La Nieta wine displays a beautiful cherry red hue. Its aromas are a harmonious blend of intense fruit and spice notes, complemented by hints of creamy black berry compote, subtle oak, and mineral undertones. The palate is delicate, subtle, and silky, with an exceptionally elegant finish that is a result of the unique qualities that define this vineyard plot.

Kat WynnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great wine bar. They offer a wide selection of wine & the tapas are delicious. I didn't think I'd enjoy bread with olive oil as much as I did! Gambas, patè & croquettes were also delicious. We went at around 2pm and it was quiet - we just wanted something light and available. I believe they offer a variety of meats that has to be pre ordered? We would love to come back. Also, very good service. Peter LacTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Txanton offers a focused and authentic take on Spanish dining, grounded in its role as a jamonería and its clear respect for quality produce and tradition. At the heart of the menu is the jamón. The jamón tasting menu is particularly impressive, presenting six different varieties that span the full spectrum of cured ham, each one expertly prepared and deeply flavourful. The supporting dishes are equally strong, including excellent gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimps), a rich and comforting arroz cremoso con frutos de mar (seafood creamy rice), and bold chorizo picante a la brasa (spicy chorizo) with smoky depth. Dessert is distinctive and well judged, with the crema de queso (cream cheese) paired beautifully with PX wine, raisins, and a Tempranillo cookie. Service is relaxed and courteous, with staff providing thoughtful recommendations and attentive care throughout. The setting is welcoming and unpretentious, echoing the atmosphere of a traditional Spanish dining room - ideal for sharing plates, conversation, and good wine. Txanton succeeds in delivering a genuine Spanish experience, excelling in its jamón while offering a consistently well-executed menu.
