Good to Know: Domaine Albert Mann is a renowned family-run estate in Wettolsheim, Alsace, formed from the union of the Mann and Barthelmé families, with winemaking roots dating back to the 17th century. Today, brothers Maurice and Jacky Barthelmé lead the domaine, which spans around 25 hectares, including several prestigious Grand Cru vineyards. Fully certified organic and biodynamic, the estate emphasizes soil health, biodiversity, and minimal intervention to produce pure, terroir-driven wines. Known for its exceptional Rieslings, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, and elegant Pinot Noirs, Albert Mann is widely regarded as one of Alsace’s benchmark producers, earning critical acclaim for its precision, balance, and commitment to sustainable viticulture.

The Albert Mann Gewurztraminer Tradition 2024 is an organic and biodynamically farmed white wine from the estate’s marly-limestone and clay soils in Wettolsheim, Alsace. The 2024 growing season was one of the dampest on record in the region, requiring rigorous vineyard management—including meticulous manual canopy care and hand-spraying by the Barthelmé family to combat disease pressure. A warm, sunny August successfully steered the grapes to optimal phenolic ripeness, while a cooler, temperate September preserved a vibrant natural acidity. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, this vintage is defined by its moderate alcohol levels and a remarkable, light-footed structure that prioritizes tension and mineral precision over heavy oiliness, presenting a highly classic and balanced expression of the grape.
This wine pairs beautifully with spicy Asian cuisine, strong cheeses like Munster or blue, or fruit-based desserts, and is best enjoyed now through 2028.
