Good to know: Verdejo Ecologico is made with organic certified grapes which are picked up at night time (60% by machine, 40% by hand) to keep freshness just before fermentation. It is fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel and developed on the lees for 3 weeks. Free of histamine. Clean and bright lemon-yellow color, very aromatic and fruity mainly from citrus, green apples and orange blossoms. Zesty citrus flavors and fresh acidity. Best for chilling yourself!

Bodegas Menade is located near the banks of the river Duero in Rueda. It was founded in 2005 by the Sanz siblings, sixth generation of winegrowers and producers who focuses on making environmentally-friendly wines from Verdejo.

Vineyards are located over 700 meter above sea level, aiming to protect environment and keep biodiversity of the land. Viticulture without coppers nor sulfur is very difficult but the Sanz brothers always keep attention to make it comes true. Ozone is also used during the growing cycle as a natural disinfectant against fungus and bacteria. They even pioneered so-called “mobile trees” which are transported all around the vines to attract insects and birds that live in the vineyards and help to pollinate.

Wine labels of Menade are featuring different animals found in the estate. A fresh white sourced from 20-25 years old vines, Menade Verdejo is represented by a hare. Menade Sauvignon Blanc features a greyhound whereas Nosso is represented by a snail. For the premium range La Misión, grapes are sourced from old vines planted on sandy soils in a small special parcel.
The 2025 vintage of Bodegas Menade Verdejo is a vibrant and organic expression that represents the wildest, most authentic side of the Verdejo grape. Emerging from a growing season marked by an extreme, atypical climatology with a warmer winter and hailstorms, the summer's cool nights ultimately allowed for optimal, gradual ripening and great aromatic concentration. Sourced from organically farmed vines over 30 years old planted on clay-limestone soils in the Rueda area, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with wild yeast to capture its true terroir. In the glass, it reveals a lively bouquet brimming with citrus peel, fresh white and yellow flowers, and delicate herbaceous notes of fennel, laurel, and thyme. On the palate, it is round, balanced, and remarkably precise, driven by a pronounced acidity that enlivens flavors of stone fruit and green apple, leading to a tense, refreshing finish with a subtle saline undertone. Because of its energetic freshness and elegant, mineral-driven character, this exceptional Verdejo demands bright and delicate dishes; it pairs beautifully with white fish, soft cheeses, light rice dishes, and fresh pasta.
