Good To Know: Highly regarded as one of the greatest Barolo producers in Piedmont, the late Aldo Conterno (who passed away in 2012) has produced highly sought after and critically acclaimed wines during his lifetime. Apart from his well decorated career in winemaking, Aldo Conterno is also considered to be a Barolo modernist especially when compared alongside his brother Giovanni who is geared towards the tradional style of the Giacommo Conterno estate.

Aldo Conterno Bussia Romirasco 2017 is a wine that opens to a dark color and robust consistency. It has a heavy feel over the palate with a wine of solid construction of dark berry and spicy oak aromas. A great potential to soften and relax over cellar aging when given many more years.

Poderi Aldo Conterno was founded in 1969 when Aldo Conterno purchased the Favot estate with along with its prized Bussia holdings. Eight years prior to his purchase, he had managed Giacomo Conterno together with his brother, Giovanni, but left to carve his own path with a more modern approach to his wines.Today, the estate is managed and led by his three sons: Franco, Stefano and Giacomo.
