Good to Know: Domaine Georges Roumier boasts a diverse and captivating terroir that is nurtured with unwavering passion and a distinct philosophy by Christophe Roumier. The wines crafted by Georges Roumier are renowned for their complexity, striking a harmonious balance between delicacy and depth, elegance and lingering finish. According to Christophe Roumier, the focus is on bringing out the unique characteristics of each terroir and appellation, rather than adhering to a specific "Roumier style".

The 2022 vintage stands as a landmark release for Domaine Georges Roumier, capturing the generous warmth and concentration of the growing season while retaining Christophe Roumier’s signature tension and finesse. Harvested from 1.89 hectares spanning both clay-dense terres rouges—which contribute body, power, and rich fruit—and limestone-rich terres blanches, which impart floral elegance and intense mineral drive. Vinified with roughly 75% whole-cluster fermentation, the 2022 expression avoids heavy muscularity to deliver an extraordinarily well-balanced, multidimensional Grand Cru with outstanding cellaring potential.
The wine reveals a complex bouquet of fresh raspberries, dark cherries, and crushed violets, woven with nuances of Indian spices, dried tea leaf, and cracked pepper. On the palate, a dense yet sleek core of red and blue fruits is framed by fine, structured tannins, fanning out into a long finish defined by vibrant salinity and fresh acidity. To match its savory depth and structural weight, pair this bottle with rich game dishes such as pan-seared duck breast with a dark fruit reduction, roasted pigeon, rack of venison, or wild mushroom risotto.
