Originating from a small factory in Nagasaki, Matsubara knives are made by Tanaka Kama Kogyo, a 4th generation blacksmith with over 20 years of knife making experience. The history of Matsubara blades trace their roots back over 880 years to the Battle of Dan-no-ura in 1185. They’re also known as a tall blades and exceptional edge retention while the softer steel cladding enhances stain resistance.
