Good to know: Château d’Armailhac was noted to exist in Pauillac since 1680 under a different name – “Mouton d’Armailhacq“and was planted with vines in 1750. As time passed, the quality of wines significantly increased due to the use of certain techniques by the Chateau. They were able to sell the wines twice the price compared to competitors. Baron Philippe de Rothschild became a minority shareholder in 1931 and later on, acquired all the shares. The Baroness Philippine in 1989, took over after the passing of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and worked to restore the original identity to Mouton d’Armailhac giving it the name Château d’Armailhac.

The 2005 vintage of Chateau d'Armailhac wine boasts a deep, attractive color. Its bouquet elegantly combines floral notes with blackberry and cherry aromas, as well as hints of nectarine and roasted coffee. On the palate, this wine is robust and generous, with well-integrated tannins that lend a sense of weight and structure, complemented by refined oak nuances with a touch of smokiness. The finish is enduring and harmonious, showcasing a perfect blend of firmness, roundness, body, and luxurious flavors.
