Good to Know: Domaine Henri Germain is a small, family-run estate in Meursault, founded in 1973 by Henri Germain and now led by his son Jean-François and granddaughter Lucie. Renowned for its pure, slow-developing Chardonnay, the domaine cultivates seven hectares of vineyards, producing a focused range of white wines from Meursault—including Premier Cru sites like Les Perrières, Les Charmes, and Les Poruzots—as well as Village wines from lieux-dits such as Le Limozin and Les Chevalières. The estate also crafts rare red wines, including a Meursault Pinot Noir from Clos des Mouches and a Beaune Premier Cru.

The domaine practices organic viticulture (uncertified), maintaining low yields and manual vineyard work. In the cellar, slow fermentations in cold underground caves and extended aging in old barrels (typically for 22 months) contribute to the wines' precision and longevity. Minimal intervention, with no racking and limited fining or filtration, allows for an authentic expression of each terroir.
Henri Germain et Fils Bourgogne Côte d’Or Blanc 2022 is a refined Chardonnay sourced from four prized parcels in Meursault and Chassagne, including Les Belles Côtes, Au Jardin, Petit Clos, and a Chassagne vineyard added in 2016. Aged in barrel and then in vat, it reveals vibrant notes of orchard fruit, citrus, white flowers, and subtle spice, with a silky texture and fresh mineral tension. Elegant and well-balanced, this wine captures the character of top Côte d’Or terroir, offering exceptional depth and finesse for its appellation—making it a standout choice for Burgundy enthusiasts.
