Good to Know: VALDUERO was established in 1984 and emerged as one of the pioneering wineries contributing to the creation of the D.O Ribera del Duero.
The first generation of winemakers, namely Gregorio García Álvarez, Yolanda García Viadero, and Carolina García Viadero, carried forward the legacy of their ancestors. Their primary objective revolved around attaining a highly regarded status in both Spain and Europe as a whole.
With Gregorio being an industrial engineer, Yolanda wielding expertise in agricultural engineering and holding a Master's degree in Enology, and Carolina boasting a degree in Art History and an MBA, these individuals formed an impeccably coordinated team. Their collective efforts initiated an enduring and triumphant journey that resulted in numerous international accolades and substantial recognition for their wines, positioning the winery among the top ten establishments in Europe.
Bodegas Valduero 12 Anos Gran Reserva was crafted in 1999, with utmost care and attention given by the producers in the selection and handling of the finest grapes. Emphasizing their commitment to quality, they meticulously chose the best from their land to deliver an exceptional wine.
The essence of time plays a crucial role in the creation of this exceptional beverage. Through a smooth and gradual aging process in carefully selected oak barrels sourced from six different origins, followed by a tranquil and prolonged resting period in the bottle, the result is an extraordinary wine that captivates with its profound character.
Upon tasting, Bodegas Valduero 12 Anos Gran Reserva unveils itself as a truly magnificent wine. Its elegance is evident in its deep, dark red color, complemented by subtle brick tones. Delicate hints of mint, leather, tobacco, and soft cedar fragrances enchant the senses. The wine's texture is remarkably smooth and velvety, balanced by a touch of acidity seamlessly integrated with the tannins. Its enduring aftertaste echoes with the nostalgic reminiscence of its delightful aromas.
To fully experience this wine's splendor, it is recommended to serve it at an ideal temperature range of 18ºC to 19ºC. Bodegas Valduero 12 Anos Gran Reserva embodies the epitome of excellence in every sip, leaving a lasting impression.

Kat WynnTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great wine bar. They offer a wide selection of wine & the tapas are delicious. I didn't think I'd enjoy bread with olive oil as much as I did! Gambas, patè & croquettes were also delicious. We went at around 2pm and it was quiet - we just wanted something light and available. I believe they offer a variety of meats that has to be pre ordered? We would love to come back. Also, very good service. Peter LacTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Txanton offers a focused and authentic take on Spanish dining, grounded in its role as a jamonería and its clear respect for quality produce and tradition. At the heart of the menu is the jamón. The jamón tasting menu is particularly impressive, presenting six different varieties that span the full spectrum of cured ham, each one expertly prepared and deeply flavourful. The supporting dishes are equally strong, including excellent gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimps), a rich and comforting arroz cremoso con frutos de mar (seafood creamy rice), and bold chorizo picante a la brasa (spicy chorizo) with smoky depth. Dessert is distinctive and well judged, with the crema de queso (cream cheese) paired beautifully with PX wine, raisins, and a Tempranillo cookie. Service is relaxed and courteous, with staff providing thoughtful recommendations and attentive care throughout. The setting is welcoming and unpretentious, echoing the atmosphere of a traditional Spanish dining room - ideal for sharing plates, conversation, and good wine. Txanton succeeds in delivering a genuine Spanish experience, excelling in its jamón while offering a consistently well-executed menu.
