Good To Know: Giacomo Fenocchio is based in Barolo, in Piedmonte region of Italy. It is a family cared for vineyard passed down from five generations. Now, the current estate is owned and ran by Claudio Fenocchio with his brothers and house winemaker. Making sure to not only maintain but also improve the quality.

Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo Bussia 2008 in magnum format is a beautifully matured Barolo that reflects the estate’s traditional approach and the character of the historic Bussia cru. Made from Nebbiolo grown on iron-rich calcareous soils in Monforte d’Alba, the wine undergoes a classic 30-day submerged cap maceration and is aged for four years in large Slavonian oak casks, followed by extended bottle aging. Now in its peak drinking window, it offers a complex bouquet of crushed cherry, violet, tobacco, truffle, and warm spice. On the palate, it delivers a harmonious blend of structure and elegance, with notes of dried berries, herbs, leather, and balsamic nuances. The magnum format preserves freshness and enhances aging potential, making this 2008 an exceptional choice for collectors and lovers of mature Barolo, especially when paired with rich dishes like game, braised meats, or aged cheeses.
