Good to Know: The estate was first established in the middle of the nineteenth century, but Amédée Merme spent much of the first decade of the 20th century organizing and growing the vineyard. Together with his son Armand, they worked to make high-quality wines in order to protect the estate's reputation in France and elsewhere. Marie-France Merme and her husband Henri Perrot-Minot carried on her father Armand's work in the 1970s. The estate was renamed Perrot-Minot after Marie-France and Henri took over management following Armand's passing.

After seven years as a wine dealer, their son, Christophe Perrot-Minot, joined the estate and became manager in 1993. His past expertise had given him an in-depth understanding and true command of wine cultivation.

The 2019 Domaine Perrot-Minot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts Vieilles Vignes is an elegant and expressive Pinot Noir crafted from old vines averaging 50 years of age, rooted in clay-limestone soils with limestone gravel. This wine opens with a refined bouquet of black cherry, blueberry, and crushed violet, leading into a silky palate layered with notes of dark cherry, cassis, and a touch of blood orange. Fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity provide structure, while a mineral edge adds depth and precision. Aged with a moderate use of new oak and produced using organic vineyard practices, this Premier Cru captures the finesse and aromatic purity that define Perrot-Minot’s style.
