Good to Know: Highly celebrated by both compatriots and the wine community as one of Burgundy's rising stars, David Duband now has 20 vintages of experience under his name. His expansion of his family's domaine now include exceptional plots in both Gevrey Chambertin and Morey Saint Denis. Also, in 2006, David Duband opted to convert his his domaine into 100% organic farming, primarily for his respect and care for the environment as well as to create intrinsic quality wines.

The David Duband Nuits-Saint-Georges is an elegant color in pink and brilliant reflections. A nose of black and red fruits with a dominant of strawberries and white pepper. The mouth is rich with very present tannins.

Domaine David Duband places a strong emphasis in both harvesting and winemaking using traditional Burgundian methods. Harvest is done entirely by hand and crushing done by foot press. Beginning 2008, David Duband also places an emphasis in whole cluster fermentation which gives his wines more structure and finesse.

The 2023 vintage showcases the signature style of Domaine David Duband, seamlessly combining the roundness and expressive vitality of the harvest with the structured depth of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Sourced from 50-year-old vines rooted in east-facing marly limestone soils, this organically farmed Pinot Noir highlights Duband’s precision-driven whole-cluster winemaking philosophy. Vinified with 60% whole bunches to preserve natural tension and floral lift, the wine is aged for 13 months in oak barrels (30% new) before resting for 3 months in stainless steel vats and bottling without fining or filtration, yielding an extraordinarily pure and well-balanced village-level expression.

The nose opens with a fragrant, intricate bouquet of redcurrant, blackberry, and wild hibiscus, accented by sun-dried tomato, poppy syrup, and delicate floral notes of iris and hyacinth over a subtle Bourbon vanilla backbone. On the palate, it is seductive and supple, driven by a harmonious core of fresh red fruit, vibrant acidity, and a silky, fine-grained texture that lends impressive depth and persistence to the finish. To complement its savory complexity and bright acidity, pair this bottle with roasted mushroom dishes in a rich miso or yeast glaze, pan-seared veal chops, herb-crusted duck breast, or roasted game.
