Good to Know: Domaine Robert Chevillon is a storied estate rooted in the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, with a legacy spanning over a century. Founded in the early 1900s by Symphorien Chevillon, the domaine has been carefully expanded and refined through generations of family dedication. From Eugène-François' post-war stewardship to Maurice’s acquisitions of Premier Cru plots, and eventually to Robert, Denis, and Bertrand Chevillon, each generation has contributed to its growth and reputation. Today, brothers Denis and Bertrand carry on the family’s passion, crafting wines celebrated worldwide for their finesse, complexity, and deep expression of Burgundy’s unique terroir.

Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes 2022 is a beautifully expressive wine sourced from old vines across several lieux-dits, including La Charmotte, Au Chouillet, and parts of Saints-Jacques and Les Maladières. It opens with vibrant aromas of black cherry and red berries, layered with earthy undertones, mineral nuances, and a touch of anise. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, supple, and perfumed, with fine, dusty tannins and a balanced, fruit-driven finish. Crafted from destemmed fruit and aged with about 20% new oak, this cuvée delivers excellent energy and definition. Critics highlight it as a standout village-level wine with aging potential, offering both early approachability and long-term elegance.

This wine is best paired with hearty and flavorful dishes such as game terrine, roast duck, duck fillet, roast veal en croûte, rib of beef, and classic boeuf bourguignon. It also complements rich, aromatic cheeses making it a perfect match for both savory mains and robust cheese courses.
