Our suggestion for decanting time is based on bottles we tried at Txanton in 2025. We guarantee that Txanton stocks are imported and maintained in proper storage within the correct temperature and humidity suitable for wine.
Good to Know: The striking intensity and meticulous sophistication of Chambolle-Musigny wines are eloquently conveyed at first sight, as demonstrated by their vigorous ruby hue crowned with dazzling, radiant reflections. Their signature aroma is composed of violet nuances and undertones of little red fruits.
Regarded as rich, fragrant, and multifaceted, Chambolle-Musigny indulges the palate with a silken, lace-like texture. Despite its tender delicacy, it maintains a robust and enduring structure, with its tannins providing a soothingly gentle accompaniment.
The subtle fibres of a Bresse capon harmonize flawlessly with the plush, yet concentrated, tannins of Chambolle-Musigny, especially the Premier Cru varieties.
The name 'Chambolle' is derived from 'Campus Ebolliens,' also known as 'Champ Bouillant.' This title reflects the temperament of the river that gustily traverses through the town, in the aftermath of tempestuous weather conditions.
Laurent Ponsot’s Chambolle-Musigny Cuvée de la Violette 2022 is a refined Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits that captures the delicate, floral elegance characteristic of this famed village. Deep ruby in color, it opens with a perfumed bouquet of spicy red cherries, violets, and layered floral notes. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky texture, lively acidity, and a subtle mineral lift that carries through to a balanced and graceful finish. Crafted with Ponsot’s signature methods—late harvesting, destemming, and minimal new oak—it showcases purity and finesse. While approachable now, it promises to reveal greater complexity with a few years of cellaring.
